This complex and very decorative Victorian case dates from around 1850 and is the work of the celebrated early Victorian taxidermist John Leadbeater of Golden Square near Piccadilly, London. For a product of this age it is in remarkable condition and contains many decorative tropical species indluding a bird of paradise.
